WARDOGS Controls and Keybinds Setup Guide

Set up WARDOGS infantry, vehicle and communication controls with a practical first-session checklist for movement, voice and specialist actions.

Check every control category first

Open the controls menu before joining a live server. Scan each category, note any unbound action, and check whether one key has been assigned to two actions that can occur at the same time. Menu names and defaults may change, so do not use a beta chart as a substitute.

Set mouse sensitivity, field of view and audio first, then enter a low-pressure environment if one is available. Change a single variable at a time. If aiming feels wrong after changing sensitivity, acceleration and field of view together, you will not know which setting caused it.

Build an infantry core before specialist binds

Keep movement, stance, lean, interact, reload, map and communication within comfortable reach. The goal is not to imitate another player's keyboard. It is to move, read the situation and report information without taking your hand away from the controls you use most.

Leave specialist actions—construction, medical equipment, explosives or indirect-fire tools—on secondary keys until your role actually needs them. That keeps the control problem separate from the loadout problem covered in the loadout guide.

Treat communication as a control

Bind push-to-talk where it can be held while moving. Test the microphone with a short, useful call: location, observation and intended action. A working icon is not enough if the selected device is wrong or the channel reaches a different group than expected.

Channel names and default push-to-talk keys may change. Check who hears each channel, whether dead or downed players can transmit, and how voice settings behave after reconnecting.

Separate vehicle and aircraft tuning

Do not assume infantry sensitivity will feel right in a wheeled vehicle, armored vehicle or aircraft. Check whether the current settings offer separate steering, look, throttle and inversion controls. Begin conservatively, practice stopping and exiting safely, then add seat-change or camera shortcuts.

A vehicle crew benefits more from predictable inputs and clear seat calls than from an aggressive sensitivity preset. Use the vehicles guide for crew roles and asset decisions, and keep this setup focused on the inputs needed to perform those jobs.

Ten-minute setup check

Before the first serious deployment, confirm forward movement, sprint, crouch or prone states, lean, interact, map, inventory, primary voice, reload and one vehicle action. Then restart the game once and make sure the settings persist.

If a key shown by the community handbook differs from the public menu, trust the installed build. Defaults can also change after September 10, so check the menu again after a major update instead of relying on an old key chart.
